A comprehensive Medical Plan has been developed to include –
SELF AND TEAM CARE
Based on the International Rugby Board’s ‘Rugby Ready ‘ programme players and teams can reduce calls on Tournament Medical services by -
- Warming Up and Cooling Down
- Ensuring Fluid and Energy Replacement between matches
- Being aware of the risk of Hyper / Hypo Thermia
- Managing minor cuts and bruises.
Strains and sprains can be treated by using Rest Ice Compression and Elevation.
Supplies of fresh ice are available from the Pavilion. Further information about the ‘Rugby Ready’ Programme is available here.
TRAINING SESSION FIRST AID
Emergency telephone , Basic First Aid Kit , AED Defibrilator and supplies of ice are located at the Pavilion.
TOURNAMENT SPORTS PAVILION BASED SERVICES
Volunteer Tournament Doctors will be available to players to provide assessment and treatment during matches. A First Aid Post and Physiotherapy Services will also be available .
Serious Injuries will be evacuated by Ambulance to Hospital –

PITCHSIDE SERVICES
Volunteer Tournament Doctors, First Aid and Ambulance Services will be located adjacent to the pitches.
TOURNAMENT PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES
Provided by Charted Physiotherapists are available at the Pavilion throughout your visit. Appointments for treatments can be made with the Receptionist from Tuesday until Friday during normal hours.
On Saturday and Sunday a Tournament Clinic will run from 11.00 hrs to17.00hrs.
Appointments for thirty minute treatment sessions can be made at Medical Services and a payment of thirty euro – cash only – is payable.
Team Physiotherapists may be able to book a limited number of treatment areas in the clinic for individual sessions and to also book ice baths by contacting the Medical Services at the Pavilion in advance.

10:00 – 18:00 hrs Saturday.
